Spring practice started on Monday, seemed to go well, some of the Class of '08 were hanging around kinda sad, we are losing a lot. Still there is a lot of talent still on the field (Foster, King, Smith, Callins, Smith, Hughes to name some) I think we are easily a playoff team and maybe could go a few rounds, after that a lot of things have to happen for any team that is not loaded like we were last year.

kinda worried about our QB spot. i think keaton has an awesome arm, very accurate, but as long as he dudht have pressure in his face. kinda seems scared 2 get hit. somebody needs 2 get up in his face and smack him around, prepare that boy

I believe (know) the QB spot will be okay, but the offensive line (surprise, surprise) will be interesting to watch this spring and fall. The O-Line returns 1 player this coming season and he will be playing a different spot on the line so there will be 5 spots with different players this season.
Offensive line always seems to be a question mark every year, but Coach Mick always seems to put together a group that gets the job done. I have learned and seen that a linemen in Guthrie does not have to be 200+ pounds to be effective.
Maybe we will get to see a lil more Josh King on offense this season. Of course, Clayton is a horse back there and is hard to bring down, but we are all seeing on all levels of football that 2 or 3 running backs is a good arsenal to have.

Keaton is gong to have an awesome season. It seemed like last year he didn't get the credit he deserved, Kye kinda shadowed him. I think we can win state again, nobody thought we could do it last year and look what we did. Last year even after we beat CA, they were still picked to win the gold ball. Yeah, Guthrie is going to have a bullseye on their backs, but I think we can do it again. Staley's gone and yes, he was one of the best football players we'd ever seen, but remember the Carl Albert game last year, he had like one yard rushing. We can win because of Keaton, Josh, and Clayton. Watch out David Oku!!!

i think Jays will do awesome this year, Carl Albert keyed on Kye, and they forgot or didnt know we had other weapons 2 look for. Guthrie was so loaded last year, from every angle, they were 2 dimensional. i doubt this year will have that luxury. when carl albert will only have 2 look for clayton this time, it wont make things so easy. keaton has 1 of the best arms ive seen for a kid. but it just seems like he freaks out when he gets a lil pressure his way. but i def see playoffs for Guthrie

Unfortunately, the scrimmage with Ponca and Enid will not be carried live. However, I will be talking to the radio crew and hopefully broadcasting it on a tape delay basis on Guthrie Sports Page.
