I laughed at the result then and I am still laughing at that poll question.
I will be working on a lil project because it appears Guthrie and Bixby have some similar aspects besides being 8-4.
It is amazing Guthrie or Bixby will be in the state championship game this season.

It just shows that playing a difficult schedule can prepare a young team for a deep playoff run. Dutton from what I'm told is looking like a real veteran leader. The future looks so bright.

Without doing too much homework yet. I think the first team to 20 wins. Both defenses are good in and in different ways and both have defenses that should be able to stop what both offenses like to do.

The Guthrie Bluejays are one game away from playing for a State Championship and are assured of no worse than a 3rd place finish in Class 5A (Not even the Extremely Talented and Senior driven team from last year made it this far). I just hope the fair weathered fans that did not support this team when they where 0-2 and said this team would only win 3 to 4 games or the fans that left at halftime of homecoming or the fans that did not show up for home games or the fans that critized are kids and made statements on the message boards about them, I just hope these same fans will stay away from Stillwater Friday night because we don't need you or want you now.

Writing them off and bashing the kids are two things entirely different. Writing them off and questioning the coaches decisions are two things entirely different. Go back and look at some of the post, I have.

Same could be said for Guthrie. El reno 12-0, Shawnee, 11-1, Bishop McGuiness 9-3, Carl Albert 10-2 (total record of 42-6) Bixby Glenpool 9-2, Jenks 12-0, Kelley 11-1, Booker T. 5-5*(three forfeits) (total record of 38-7)*three forfeits

Wow… so proud of this group of kids. They have a real chance to bring another gold ball to Guthrie. I don’t know anyone that expected that. Just wondering if “tom” will be at the gate making sure that only the type of fan he wants gets in.

I am just wondering, are we not allowed to voice concerns or opinions about the state of the bluejay football program on this message board? Anyone who hasn't seen a lot of changes in the offense in the past 5 or 6 weeks doesn't know anything about football, and it begs the question.... why would anyone make changes? Hmmm let me think, maybe it is because some players were not in the correct spots or maybe because the coaches might have been wrong with the type of offense they were running? I give the coaching staff a lot of credit, this is with out a doubt this is the best coaching job they have done since arriving at Guthrie, hands down.
I have been to every game that the bluejays have played this year except one, and I questioned some of the choices the coaches made about personal, should I not be allowed to go to the games anymore because I question the program?
Nevermind don't answer that because I will be there, just like I have been, just hope Tom isn't at the gate waiting.....lol

Everyone do keep in mind that the Jays are playing for the right to play in the state championship for only the fourth time in school history.
Uknow, you gave the coaching staff the biggest credit you could when you mention the changes they have made to the offense.
There were not any returning players from a season ago outside of Kentrell and Bowman that we knew what we had. Of course, the staff put together what they thought would work with what they saw in practice.
Obviosuly there is a difference in games and practices. So when it does not work, they made the changes that needed to be made. THATS AWESOME! I have seen over the past few years, other teams not changing anything and stuck with what they had. Not sure why they would not change, but they didn't.
Goes back to the 2002 season, I-formation at first and then change to the spread formation because of what they saw in the previous games. Makes sense to me!
I would take a coaching staff that is willing to make a change then sticking with what they started with just go with what happens.
Not only talking about changes to the offense, but changes in games too. This is one of the biggest things this coaching staff does very well.
For the record, this is the same staff that has played in four state semi final games in the last 8 seasons.

I agree Chris. And just like any fanatical fan, I have asked “who called that play?”, “why did they throw to him again when it didn’t work the first time?”, “the option just isn’t working tonight, why do we keep trying?”, but you can’t argue with results. Let me go on record as saying “Our Bluejay coaches are geniuses”. Rafe, dinner’s on me bro.
