Brayle Brown and Jordan Athingy need to come down with a big case of the swine flu LOL
i'm kidding I don't really wish that upon anyone.
I have three very obvious keys to the game.
Offensive line will need to block better. We'll have to score at least 30. Running game will finally have to get on track. (That goes back to thought #1)

after last nites game, seems kinda impossible, but me and my dad were lookin at the shawnee ardmore game summary from last nite. ardmore/ shawnee tied at 14 in the first quarter. then b4 half, shawnee is only up by a touchdown 35-28 then it was the shawnee show from then on out. so if guthrie shows up, plays hard, they have a good shot. but as mentioned previously, if guthrie loses and finishes 3rd in district, would probably be the best thing 2 happen (playoff wise)

Shawnee actually pushed that game open in the third quarter. they scored 21 points in five minutes.

Didn't say you did not say anything different. I was just clarifying that it exploded to a blow out in five minutes..

Great first half. That third quarter killed us. They moved the ball really well and we only managed something like 20 yards of total offense.
Shawnee showed that they're really flawed overall. I don't know how they beat Carl Albert.. Maybe if Gary Rose punts the ball on that 4th down instead of going for it, CA escapes. That's difference I guess.
Guthrie looked great. Dutton, very impressed how he played as he was under huge pressure all night.
Guthrie also did something that Shawnee hadn't seen all season. They brought a lot of pressure and forced Brayle Brown to hurry some throws. The defense shined for three quarters. A lot of drive-continuing penalties really helped them. I think that's your difference right there. Two major penalties on incomplete third and fourth downs allowed two touchdowns for Shawnee. Plus, the fumble late in the first half that led to the momentum change.
I don't think Shawnee could beat an El Reno or a Booker T. I don't see Shawnee eve getting to the title game this season.
